Author Submissions Guidelines
We've outlined the basic guidelines for content, but there are also a few other key things to include in your submission.
Content
We have geared the content on this website to educating pet owners. Please make sure the articles are fact/science based and written in a way that is not opinion based. You can infuse your personality, but we ask that your article not be solely based on opinion.
Images
We use images on the website that have been purchased for use by us or images that are owned by us. If you would like to include a specific image it is important to ensure there is no copyright infringement, so we require a link to the image or a photo release from you stating you own the image and are giving us permission to publish it.

References
If you're using info from a book or another website, make sure to include the reference and/or links to be included in the article. We want to make sure the references are reputable, so scholarly references are best, but we also accept other links so long as they are fact based.

Author Bio
When writing an author bio we suggest to include some of the following information:
- Name and credentials. Include what year you received your licenses.
- What type of practice do you work in, how long?
- Do you have a subject you are passionate about? Include them.
- Are you published, lectured at conferences, or provide other CE?
- Contact information. If you would people to contact you to speak for them or write for them, include your contact information.
- Do you have a service within the veterinary community you would like to promote? Include the links.
Headshot
Why do you need a headshot? Most conferences require a photo. It's a good think to have in your technician arsenal.
You don't have to spend tons of money on a professional looking headshot, but there are some key points to know when getting one done. Here's a link to a good article on headshots if you choose to do them at home.
You can also hire a professional photographer to produce a headshot for you. Make sure to check out their portfolio to see if they are a good fit for you. You can always ask a friend for references.
